Frostbiting delayed 1 hour on March 13

Edgewood Yacht club is holding its annual Open House on Sunday, March 13, and the public is invited to come see the club. Several skippers suggested that we postpone racing that day by 1 hour so visitors can watch the racing. I think that's a great idea, so we'll start the first race this Sunday at noon.

Sunday is also the start of Daylight Savings Time, so even though the clock will say noon, it should feel more like our usual starting time. Think of it as an opportunity to "ease in" to the time change.

I hope you all can come race that day, and enjoy the open house afterwards.

It's official: No frostbite racing on Valentine's Day

As expected, it will be too cold on Sunday for us to hold frostbite racing. The forecast is for a wind chill of -10 °F at race time. Brrrr!!!

We'll hope that the weather is better next week. See you then!

Reminder to clear Brown cradles by 2/23

Wayne has asked me to let everyone know that Brown University will start their spring sailing season on February 23rd. That means that we need to clear all Sunfish off of the cradles by then.

If your Sunfish is in a cradle and we sail on February 21, then you can simply store your Sunfish somewhere else at the end of racing on that day. Otherwise please come down to the club and move your Sunfish to the racks or the south dinghy docks.

In other news, the forecast for this Sunday continues to look bad, so it's unlikely that we'll be racing on Valentine's day.
