How is 2014 summer a step to 2015 programs?

HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM YOUR FRIENDS
AT EDGEWOOD SAILING SCHOOL!

Although summer 2014 already seems far behind us, we’re still just wrapping up our terrific year. This year there's again been more interest in sailing at Edgewood, from adult beginners to kids of all levels, from the summer core-season up through the fall clinics and regattas on through the frostbiting that continues all winter and spring, and the regular Saturday Morning Volunteers who are doing the chores to see the fleet is secure for the winter. And we’re very excited to look forward to building on that momentum in 2015. So, with many thanks for all your interest and help this year, we’d like to mention a few things :

HOW YOU CAN HELP THE SCHOOL:

We’re hopeful for some year-end donations to cover our fall expenses and put us on the right track for the spring. And if you can donate $25, $50, or $100 before the end of the month, that would greatly help us as we move into 2015. Some generous donors have agreed to match all contributions made between now and year-end, up to $1000 … let’s make sure we use all of that matching capacity! You can easily donate by credit card online here, or you can mail a donation check to Edgewood Sailing School, PO Box 25641, Cranston, RI  02905. Your donation and all contributions will be matched up to $1000. (Click on "Donate & Help" )

HOW YOU CAN ENJOY EDGEWOOD SAILING ALL YEAR LONG:

Just because the water's a little frosty, don't stop thinking about sailing! More than a dozen boats are on the water on Sundays with many familiar Sailing School faces (adults and youth skippers) included among the fleet.  Come see the next event: The Frozen Few at Edgewood Yacht Club on New Year’s Day for our annual frostbite regatta, and come witness the anniversary after the 2011 fire, on Sunday, January 18, 2015 for our annual “Up from the Ashes” Regatta and Sunfish Raffle.  The regatta is commemorating the return of the “Frozen Few” to the water just a week after losing the old Edgewood clubhouse in 2011. The Raffle is a fund-raiser for the School.  Cheer on your favorite sailors, or, better yet, if you’re willing and able, join the frostbiting fleet these dates and all the chilly Sundays – we have 15 or more boats sailing many weeks! See the "Racing" tab for more information. (Click on "Racing")

HOW YOU CAN PROVE TO EVERYONE HOW LUCKY YOU ARE:

Tickets for our Sunfish Raffle continue to sell to savvy sailors – with a maximum of 200 tickets to be sold the chances are great.  You should secure yours now! Go online to buy your tickets by credit card. $75 each, or $50 each when buying 2 or more, gets you a healthy chance at winning a brand-new race-rigged Sunfish.  The boat package is worth nearly $5000. Thanks to our friends at Laser Performance for sponsoring this raffle!
The boat will be awarded from a “live” drawing at our “Up from the Ashes” Regatta on January 18, 2015.

Again with WARM WISHES TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY,

The Board and Staff of Edgewood Sailing School
