The Frozen Few, 2013-2014

Edgewood Yacht Club is planning an expanded frostbite series this year, starting on October 20, 2013 and running through April 27, 2014. The season will be divided into Fall, Winter and Spring series, plus the traditional special race on New Year's Day, and the Up from the Ashes Regatta on January 19, 2014.

The race committee will be at the club starting at 9 am on October 20th to accept registrations and assist with getting boats to the Sunfish racks. Note that registration forms must be completed and winter boat storage fees paid in full before boats may be stored at the yacht club.

ORANGE: Frostbite sailing under small craft advisory (11/3/13)

Flag color:
orange

There's a small craft advisory in effect until 4 pm Sunday afternoon, but SailFlow is still predicting winds within our limits. We'll make a determination on the dock for today's frostbite racing.

Fun day of variable conditions (10/27/13)

Gene and Rich joined the usual suspects for a great day of racing with fun conditions. The winds were just shifty and variable enough to keep everyone on their toes.

Gusty start to the 2013-2014 season

Our early start to the frostbite season got off to a rocky start, with three boats getting knocked down by 25 knot gusts during the first race and two tiller failures. Four boats finished, but the race committee canceled the remaining races due to the conditions.

Wind: NW 10-25
Air temp: 61°F
