VOLUNTEER LOG - 2013

Volunteers make it happen!

At Edgewood Sailing School, volunteers carry the School, and in particular, they carry the Fleet of 37 boats, 16 trailers, and plus 5 tons of equipment.  On the water volunteers serve as Race Committees, adult Tutors, and youth JIs.  On land, along with our enthusiastic donors and supporters, our Volunteers are our board of directors and helpers, our transportation corps, and now our adult Saturday Vols, and Haul-Out Volunteers.

This time of year, in the Fall, Edgewood volunteers prepare the Fleet and haul it out for winter storage.  Over the winter, volunteers go through all the parts, perform maintenance on the motors and electrical, make repairs; inventory the sails and equipment, clean up, carry sails in for repairs at the local Doyle Sail loft, re-rig.   Idea is to find the Fleet on the hard in the spring 2014 with all the repairs properly made, the equipment in top-condition, and the necessary preventative maintenance entirely complete, so the Fleet is ready.
