This Week

REMINDER: "Saturday Volunteers" starting September 30

Call for Volunteers – reminder that Saturday Volunteers starts this weekend – 9am to noon.

Last weekend – it was recreational sailing.
This weekend – volunteers work on the boats to start preparing for 2018.

Now it's time ...

On Friday evening the first group of Rhodes19s on trailers arrived back at Edgewood, signalling the annual Call for Volunteers and the start of the work to open 2018 June sailing season.

Edgewood's Fleet floats because Edgewood's treasured "Saturday Volunteers" tackle cleaning up the hulls, inspecting and storing the sails, and a long list of "off-season" maintenance and repairs (organizing, attaching new cleats, sorting out lines, carpentry, minor electrical and fiberglass, cleaning, counting, and storage).

... for Volunteers

Volunteers supply cheerfulness and energy. They work both solo and in teams.  The Sailing School provides all the necessary stuff to do the work safely.
Learn a new skill.  No heavy lifting.  Wear work clothes.

... Saturdays

Volunteers meet 9am-noon, each Saturday.  If the weather is bad we meet inside.  New teams organized each week. Volunteers can work for as much of the morning as they have available that week.

... join – help now to re-launch the fleet in 2018

Edgewood Saturday Volunteers get the boats ready to haul; and then meet the boats again on trailers back at Edgewood, starting September 30, for six week's work on the the boats to prepare for the next exciting sailing season.   [contact: staff for details]
