TWO SAILS IN FOR EDGEWOOD - and ALMOST THE THIRD !

NEARLY THREE SAILS in 30 days !

With the help of sailors and friends and an Adult Level-3 class challenge, the Rhodes-19 year-end sails appeal is looking good.

By Thanksgiving, Edgewood gifts total $2500.  The goal is $4500 = 5 new matched Doyle Rhodes-19 mainsails.

Sail #1  and  Sail #2  are both full-funded!

Sail #3  is "almost" funded (needs $200 more).

The Treasurer confirmed that in this year-end appeal Edgewood Donors' support has inched steadily up to $2,500 – including for the first time a "challenge" among the Adult Level-3 sailors who are exchanging greetings from their sailing in summers of 2013-2014-2015, and pooling their donations to be the first to get a chance to sail on the new mains in 2016.

Also, Tuesday is "Giving Tuesday" and the Sailing School is ready to chalk in more support.
(After all, what could be more a "response to commercialization and consumerism in the post-Thanksgiving season" [Wikipedia] than supporting sailing?)

But ...  We still have a long way to go, and the Sailing School still needs each of us to help.

Sail #4 - no funding yet

Sail #5 - no funding yet

• Are you in a Rhodes for recreational Friday night sailing?

• Are your kids ESS Starter Sailors or veterans of that program, now sailing in Optis or 420s?

• Are you looking for picnic sails in 2016?

• Are your kids Junior Instructors teaching Starter Sailor classes?

• Are you an adult student or alum, or would you like to help someone learn to sail?

• Are you a racer and up for more competition in the Rhodes 19s next summer?

That's our Rhodes 19 fleet ... and if we all pitch in, we'll have the funds for all new mainsails in no time!

Please link to make a secure on-line donation, or send a check to ESS at PO Box 25641, Cranston, RI 02905.
