Scholarships at Edgewood 2016

2016 RICK MACNEIL YOUTH SCHOLARSHIPS:
APRIL 8 APPLICATION DEADLINE

Do you have a child (or know a child) who’d like to sail at Edgewood this summer, but for whom the tuition expense is prohibitive?

Through the Rick MacNeil Scholarship Fund, the Sailing School is able to defray a portion of our junior program tuition for one or more weeks, for a small number of our young sailors.

If your child or a child you know is interested in taking classes at the Edgewood Sailing School, but may not be able to afford full tuition, please submit an on-line application, or email a letter to scholarship@edgewoodsailing.org so it is received NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, APRIL 8, 2016. 

Scholarship decisions will be announced April 11.  The Scholarship Committee will contact you if additional information is required. No payment is required while your application is being reviewed. Decisions will be made and each family will be notified April 11. 

While we are able to award scholarship funds to Youth sailors at any level, we particularly encourage first-time Edgewood sailors who may need financial assistance to take advantage of this opportunity in connection with our Starter Sailor classes.

NOTE:   Your letter (email, or on-line application) should explain the young sailor's interest in the program, describe why you feel they qualify for a scholarship, and estimate the level of scholarship award that would be needed for the child to participate (for example, if you can pay X towards tuition, let us know the remaining amount Y that you'd need from the Scholarship). Please also provide your contact information. 

Applications will be privately reviewed by the ESS board of directors and will be selected based on sailors' Interest and Need. 

As always, we welcome donations to the Rick MacNeil Scholarship Fund to replenish funds for upcoming years. Donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
