420s move into Edgewood
Edgewood has made room on the rack
for two more race-ready 420s this week.
Chris (Head Instructor) and Chris (board member) took the School's 420
trailer to New Bedford and returned -- after a brief visit to replace a trailer
tire or two at Joe's Garage in Marian -- with a pair of clean and lean boats
with sails and rigs, to stiffen the Edgewood racing fleet.
The new-arrivals reflect the School's planned rotation towards newer hulls, in light of the steady shift from Optis to 420s as a group of Edgewood youth age into the more powerful boats.
The boats will be launched in June, in
time for the 420 Basic/Refresher of 420 sailing. That class is "full" and "waitlisted" already, in anticipation of the
expanded fleet.
