Sailing School Starter Sailor turns her birthday into a "Help Sailing School" day

Her parents reported that celebrating her 8th birthday, ESS/STB Starter Sailor Greta Shuster (photo with her sister) first invited her friends to come to her Mardi Gras birthday party.  And then she worked some spring-time magic of her own: she asked, instead of gifts, make donations to Edgewood Sailing School to help replace the equipment lost in the January Edgewood Yacht Club fire.  

Together with her friends, Greta raised $500 for the school.

Chris Lee, Sailing School President, welcomed the donations saying, "This is great !" and noted that Greta is already enrolled for the 2011 Starter Sailor class.

All the other young sailors, their families, the Edgewood volunteers and staff say, Many thanks Greta!  Happy Birthday!  And we look forward to seeing you on the water this summer!"
