Just snow cleanup today, no racing
It's a tough call, but I'm going to call off today's frostbite racing in the interest of avoiding real frostbite. Instead, we're planning to go down to the club, help with snow removal, and check on the power boats.
The old racing cutoff was winds above 20 knots or temperatures below 20°F. I amended that a few years ago to wind chill below 0°F. Under either system, we're just above the cutoff today, but not by enough to make me comfortable, especially since the Carolina Skiff isn't working. I also want to make a decision early enough and clearly enough that the skippers joining us from Barrington and RIYC can adjust their plans.
So I invite everyone to drop by the club around 10:30 and pitch in with snow removal and maintenance. Bring shovels and brooms if you have them. Hopefully the weather will be more conducive next week.
