Frostbiting is ON for Oct. 23, with some caveats
I just went down to the club, and conditions are … odd. The bay is very flat, there is no chop, and most of the time winds are light in the 5 – 7 knot range. Every few minutes a puff comes through, builds to about 20 knots, and then dies back down again. Since the bay is so flat, you can see the puffs coming on the water.
If the conditions hold, I think they could make for some fun racing. And since winds are from the west, we can limit the puffs somewhat by staying close to shore. But if boats start going over, we may have to stop early. We will also need to keep clear of the college regatta today.
So I intend to go down to the club and see what we can do. Please come sail if you can, with the understanding that we may have to cancel if conditions worsen. And if you haven't registered yet, you can save everyone some time by printing and filling out a registration form before you come.
