2009-2010 Notice of Race
Schedule: Sunfish races are scheduled at Edgewood Yacht Club on Sundays from November through February, except January 3. The Race Committee will generally provide a mid-morning emailed weather advisory, and will try to start 5 races each race day, starting promptly at 11:00 am, and ending around 1:30 pm. The Season will be a series consisting of all the races in both series, but not including the New Year's Day Regatta.

Racing Fees:

Entry:
- Skippers may introduce themselves and race one day without Racing Fee being charged.
- There is no Racing Entry Fee charged for the New Year's Day Regatta.
- Season sunfish storage with locker and sail storage is available at EYC for $80. (SunFish space on South dinghy dock; Rig storage inside; Locker inside through 4/15/10)
- All fees must be paid, storage contracts executed, boat hulls, spars and gear labeled, and winter-storage EYC dock sticker received, before the boat or gear may be stored at EYC, and before the skipper may race.
- Awards will be made to the top finishers for the Season, as well as for the individual Series.
Registration and Skipper’s Responsibilities: Each participant must register with the Race Committee and sign a Waiver Form before racing. Each skipper will accept responsibility for his or her own safety during racing and for deciding whether or not to race. Skippers will realize that winter sailing presents hazards of exposure, and will dress appropriately for weather and water temperatures and will be prepared for immersion. All skippers are required to wear life jackets while on the water. Wet/dry suits are highly recommended.
Race Committee Duty: Skippers will be asked to serve on the Race Committee, which may include conducting starting sequences, scoring, safety boat driving, and mark setting, as well as over-all responsibility for the use of Club property and securing the Club at the finish of the day's activities. Tentative assignments will be discussed at a skipper’s meeting. Each skipper who serves on the Race Committee will receive a score of "Q" for each of the races held that day. Rules: International Sailing Federation The Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-2012 (RRS), US Sailing Association prescriptions, Sunfish Class Rules, this Notice of Race, and these Sailing Instructions will govern the racing. RRS Rule 44.2 is changed.
Social Activities: May include a cruise/picnic and holiday party, as well as having the Club available for food and refreshments during and after the racing.
